SHG Episode 079

Welcome to this week's edition of Subterranean Homesick Grooves™, a weekly electronica-based radio show presented on CHMA FM 106.9 at Mount Allison University in Atlantic Canada, and also distributed as a global podcast through iTunes and numerous other sites. The show is normally programmed and mixed by Jonathan Clark (as DJ Bolivia), although some weeks feature guest mixes by other Canadian DJ's. The show encompasses many sub-genres within the realm of electronic dance music, but the main focus is definitely on progressive and tribal house, and a small amount of trance & techno. Liner notes for this episode (079) can be seen below.

I put together this week's show while I was in Victoria, British Columbia. I feel like I've got a slightly new direction for the show right now. For the past few weeks, I've been experimenting with omitting my vocals at the start of the show, so people can focus more on the music. Also, this week I think you'll find that things are a lot more energetic than most of the shows from earlier in the summer. In the past, I've usually ramped up from a more refrained start to building up energy by the end of the show. But I think for shows in the future, I'll be bringing the energy levels up higher right from the beginning. I always appreciate any feedback that listeners want to leave, either by emailing me at djbolivia@gmail.com or by posting on my fan page on facebook.
